| Murray defeats Nadal in the semifinals of Mutua Madrid Open 2016 |
The favorite of all Madrid, Rafael Nadal did not manage to win against Murray this time after he has done it in the final of Monte Carlo's Masters. The Britan triumphed at the final score 7:5 6:4 after more than 2 hours battle.
Murray was leading 5:2 in the first set when Nadal getting everybody ball in and Andy just could not handle this tempo. However, the Scot succeeded in taking the service game of Nadal at 6-5 without giving him a single point and finishing the set with a spectacular return.
The second set developed almost the same way. Murray was leading 5-3 and was serving for the match. Nadal broke the serve of the Britain but when the Matador had to serve to remain in the tournament he lost his game shaping the final result 7-5 6-4.
Murray advances to the final of Mutua Madrid Open 2016 trying to defend his title from last year. He is going to play against the world no1, Novak Djokovic.
