Niko Rosberg won the Bahrain GP 2016 and continues his winning run with a fifth title in a row (second for the current season). This is also his first victory in Bahrain. Kimi Raikkonen finished second, 10.3s behind Rosberg, and third was Hamilton.
The race started without one of the favorites, Vettel, due to an engine failure in the formation lap. That was the first race in his nine years career which he misses. With this he is already 35 points behind Rosberg in the driver's standings. The other pretender for the title, Hamilton, crashed with Bottas at the first corner causing damage to his bodywork and floor and dropped to 9th place. However, he managed to recover to third place finishing only 30 seconds behind his teammate.
With this race, Raikkonen finished second in Bahrain for the fifth time in his career and is yet to win it. The Finn is currently 5th in the Driver's standings with the 18 points that he won today. Red Bull's Ricciardo is gets to the 3rd place in the standings after finishing 4th today.
