The final in Rio Open is about to begin and the two finalists are currently preparing for the match. Lets see some statistics before they start off.
Pablo Cuevas is currently ranked 45th in the world, while his opponent Guido Pella is 71th. This is Pella's first ATP final in his career. To get here Pella eliminated the 20 years old young star Dominic Thiem in 2 sets 6:1 6:4. Cuevas' match was harder as he faced the king of clay, Rafael Nadal, and defeated him in a 3 set thriller, 6:7 7:6 6:4. This is not the first time the two players meet. They have faced each other in the ATP Challenger series twice, both of them having a win against the other. In 2014 Cuevas won 6:4 6:4 (clay) and a year later Pella was the winner with 6:3 6:2 (clay). In his last 7 clay matches Cuevas has 6 wins, while Pella has only 5 in his last 8 clay matches.
