The first match of the day session will be between Grigor Dimitrov and Adrian Mannarino. The match starts at 12:30 pm local time. It is going to be very interesting to watch the one-handed backhand of Dimitrov versus the playing with left hand French. The players haven't played against each other in an ATP tournament.
Adrian played two long, 3-set matches in the first and the second round. In addition, he played two tiebreaks in his 2nd round match against Tatsuma Ito from Japan. Dimitrov gave only 6 games to his opponent in the first round, Dudi Sela. However, he was very indecisive in his second match where he had to turn from 0-1 sets to 2-1 sets against Damir Dzhumur.
Dimitrov's fans are asking whether he is able to repeat the results form 2014 or he is just another overrated player. It seems that this tournament is very important to him because he needs more confidence and consistency on the court. He gets a great chance to win the tournament after Anderson, Tomic and Karlovic are out of the tournament.
