The first semifinal will begin at 3pm local time. It is going to be between Grigor Dimitrov (BUL) and Rajeev Ram (USA) who defeated Bernard Tomic in the first round of the tournament.
Ram had 3 very long matches which may have made him a bit exhausted but surely he will not give the win to Grigor. This tournament is a great success to the American Yesterday, Grigor palyed a very good match with few mistakes in his game but managed to win in straight sets. Grigor also played a very long match in the second where he demonstrated what a fighter he is and did not give up.
The players have met twice in ATP tournaments. Raj won the match in 2009 and Grigor won in 2012. It seems that this cannot be a factor in the match today.
The second semifinal is between Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG) and Sam Querrey (USA). It is going to start at 8 pm local time.
This is the first tournament for Del Potro since he got unjured and left the ATP tour for 11 months. Despite of this he played very decisevly in the first matches of the tournament and did not lose a set through his way to the semifinals. Querrey won easily in the first and the second round. However, he had problems against Smyczek and had to play tree sets and a tiebreak in the second.
The players have met twice. Del Potro won the twice. However, their last meeting was in 2011. In this semifinal, Querrey has bigger chances because he is playing in front of American audience and this is the first tournament of Juan Martin for more almost an year.
